Sending Heartfelt Thanks to Our Community
This Valentine’s Day, we’re sending lots of love and appreciation to our incredible community. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of people like you, Second Chances is able to provide empowering clothing, shoes, and accessories to our neighbors facing challenges, offering confidence and courage when they need it most.
You continue to show up for our community - providing warmth, dignity, and belonging one piece of clothing at a time.
This kind note from one of our partners is as much for you as it is for us: |
Dear Sarah, Betsy, & Andrea,
Thank you so much for your generous clothing donations for our families this year! I wish you could have seen the joy in the face of a single mover receiving two bags full of clothes for her and her 6 year-old son. Supporting families to obtain basic necessities like clothing goes a long way. Thank you for helping make that possible! Happy holidays, & I look forward to collaborating in 2026! - Anne Kirby, Children’s Program Social Worker, Maria L. Baldwin Community Center

Your compassion creates second chances for so many people, and for that, we are so thankful! |

Our compassionate friends and neighbors at Mudflat Pottery School are collecting donations of clothing, shoes, and accessories in Somerville through February 18.
Make room for fresh beginnings while supporting folks in our shared community with items you no longer need. Drop off a bag of clothes of any season, any gender, and any size to help our neighbors move forward with strength and dignity.
We are so grateful to the Mudflat team for their longstanding support and partnership over the years. Thank you to Mudflat Pottery School for hosting, and to our neighbors who have already donated or who plan to donate!

As we look back on 2025, a milestone year that marked 20 years of Second Chances turning clotheslines into lifelines, our hearts are filled with deep appreciation and gratitude.
From installing new clothing donation bins to being honored with the Somerville Chamber of Commerce's 2025 Powderhouse Award for Non-Profit of the Year, 2025 was filled with incredible moments and achievements.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary, strengthened organizational sustainability, deepened our partnerships, and recycled and reused 339,349 pounds of clothing, demonstrating the power of collective impact and community spirit.
Thank you for being the heart of our community and helping us pave the way for brighter futures. Here’s to another year of making second chances possible! |
