'TIS THE SEASON
We know you don't need us to remind you that fall and back-to-school season are just around the corner. Enjoy the rest of your summer! May it be sunny, vibrant, and rejuvenating.
Cooler weather and the start of a new school year increase the need for clothing among the folks Second Chances serves. Fortunately, the increased need coincides with late-summer moving season and planning for community giving through local workplaces, congregations, and community organizations.
If you're interested in hosting a clothing drive this fall or winter, please plan ahead and get in touch as soon as you have dates picked out. Our new website makes it easy for us to support your success with personalized clothing drive webpages and posters to promote your event. By letting us know early, you can reserve a convenient pick-up date and time if you're within a 30-minute drive of our Cambridge warehouse and will be collecting 350 pounds or more.

If you're moving or cleaning out closets and drawers, please remember that September 1st is the biggest moving date in our area and a holiday weekend this year. If you can avoid donating at our outdoor bins during that period, it will help us keep the areas around the bins clean for folks who can't avoid donating in late August and early September. Please always respect our donation bin hosts by placing your bags inside the bins and holding them for a future donation if the bin seems full or jammed. Thank you, and extra thanks to our bin hosts.

WELCOME BETSY!
We're excited to welcome Betsy Ziegler to the Second Chances team as our first Program & Operations Manager.
Betsy is passionate about helping people in need and, in addition to a career in healthcare, she's been an active volunteer with the Reading Food Pantry, Special Olympics, and Lazarus House.
Betsy has already begun improving our service delivery and internal processes so we can reach more people who need clothing with our existing resources.
Please join us in welcoming Betsy to our team! |

THANK YOU, WINNIE!
We’re grateful to Winnie Lee, who has served part-time as our Program and Communications Coordinator. Winnie is leaving Second Chances to continue growing her real estate practice as an Agent and Realtor.
Winnie first connected with Second Chances as a volunteer, hosting an annual Earth Day clothing drive at Coldwell Banker Cambridge. When she joined our staff, she brought her deep compassion, exceptional marketing and design skills, and extensive knowledge of our communities to benefit our provider partners and their clients. We wish Winnie all the best! If you're in the market for a terrific real estate agent, you can find her at Coldwell Banker Cambridge. |
