New Clothing Donation Bins Are Here!
Last week, Second Chances was thrilled to deliver new clothing donation bins to six locations in Arlington, Boston, Cambridge, Medford, and Somerville. The clothing you and other compassionate members of our community donate at these bins supports folks in our community as they navigate challenges and increase their wellbeing.
These bins also make it easy for our community to reuse and recycle more than 300,000 pounds of clothing each year while providing empowering, free clothing, shoes, and accessories to thousands of neighbors in need.
Many thanks to Gentle Giant Moving Company for expertly delivering these new bins and helping us collect and recycle the old ones. We are grateful for Gentle Giant’s longstanding partnership and support, moving our donation bins several times - pro bono - over nearly 20 years.
Special thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this project, including Michael at Archimedia Solutions Group; Alex at All in One Graphics; Jeff, Erin, and Adam Weafer at MicroWire Products; Stacey at Outside Minds Creative; and hundreds of generous donors and sponsors who have supported Second Chances.
We’re grateful to our bin hosts at Whole Foods Market, Tufts University, the City of Cambridge, and the Museum of Science for working with us to ensure a smooth move day and for their compassion in hosting these outdoor bins at their locations.
It truly takes a village, and we are incredibly fortunate to be part of such a compassionate and caring one. |

Our favorite part about decluttering and organizing is rediscovering hidden gems in our closets. Spring cleaning becomes an opportunity to reassess clothing that no longer fits and styles that no longer match our tastes.
Please consider donating at one of the public clothing drives hosted by wonderful volunteers from our community! Give your clothing a second life while diverting textiles from landfills.

Special thanks to so many generous early sponsors who have already invested in Second Chances’ future and supported our neighbors in need. For 20 years, Second Chances, alongside generous donors and compassionate community partners, has removed barriers to success, empowered communities, and protected the planet - one piece of clothing at a time. Our two decades of good work pave the way for even greater impact, keeping clothing in circulation and continuing to support our neighbors.
