New Updates - Coming Soon!

At Second Chances, 2023 has been all about growth and change. We're serving more people in the community than ever before, so our clothing room is being renovated and reconfigured to maximize productivity, safety, and comfort. We're also refreshing our branding and website thanks to generous financial support through the City of Somerville’s ARPA funds. Our new website, expected to launch in January, will be more accessible and user-friendly. Stay tuned for updates on these projects and more!

Sweater Weather

Fall weather is just around the corner and we’re already receiving requests for cold weather clothing. We know a lot of people go through their closets to see which items they’d like to donate this time of year. While you’re beginning to edit your fall wardrobe, if you have sweaters, coats, and boots in good quality, please donate them to Second Chances to benefit folks in our community.

Public Clothing Drive

Steve McKenna and the Home Advantage Team will be collecting donations of clothing, shoes, and accessories in Arlington from October 2nd to October 13th. Drop off a bag of clothes and support people in need in our community. Thanks to Steve McKenna and the Home Advantage Team for hosting another public clothing drive.

Second Chances is the only program in our community providing free and empowering clothing, shoes, and accessories to nearly 600 homeless and lower-income women, men, and children annually while recycling and reusing more than 300,000 pounds of textiles each year.
