Are you making moves this month or next? |
September 1st is our area’s biggest moving day. The first step in any successful move is decluttering! Please consider bringing any new or gently used clothing you're ready to part with to a Second Chances donation location. Our clients need the full range of apparel - for work, play, everyday living, and special events - and we appreciate all ages, genders, seasons, and types of clothes, shoes, and accessories.
As a reminder: - If the bin is full, please don’t leave your donation outside. Bring it to another location or save it for another time.
-
Place your donations in a small- or medium-sized bag (no hangers or boxes). Larger bags and boxes often won’t fit in our bins.
- Hold on tightly to your phone, keys, wedding band, etc. so you don’t donate anything unintentionally.
- Don’t put financial contributions in the bins - please send donations separately.
Our bins are emptied at least four times a week, and even more frequently during moving season. Your courtesy and care help us through this busy time. Thank you for supporting people in need in our community and keeping as much apparel as possible out of landfills! |
Host your own clothing drive |
Do you work for a company or belong to a congregation, organization, or social group that wants to support other community members? Are you hosting any kind of gathering - book club meeting, wedding, birthday, or anniversary party? Now is a great time to plan ahead and coordinate a fall or winter clothing drive, as it tends to be one of our busiest times of the year.
Second Chances can provide you with a marketing tool kit, including a special webpage with your logo as well as posters you can print or email. If your event is open to the public, we can even help with publicity through our website and social media. For larger events within our service area, we may be able to arrange a pick up, especially if you plan ahead. We're grateful to our clothing drive partners and volunteers, who host more than 50 drives each year to support folks in our community.
